Excuse This House

Read this sweet little poem on a friend's blog and had to share it!

Excuse This House

Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there,
Ours boasts of it quite openly, the signs are everywhere!
For smears are on the windows, little smudges on the door;
I should apologize I guess For the toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children and we played and laughed and read,
And if the door bell does not shine, their eyes will shine instead!
For when at times I am freed to choose the one job or the other,
I want to be a homemaker, but first I'll be a Mother"!

  1. Candace, just to let your readers know I got that poem from my devotional. The Power of Motherhood by Nancy Campbell....I highly recommend this devotional. Nancy Campbell shows in detail what the Bible says about mothers and the high rank of being a mother. I am glad that you liked the poem!! We miss you.

  2. Very cute! I may have to include that in our MOPS newsletter.

    So Adrienne, was it written by Nancy herself, or was it anon and included in her devotional book?
